Rolex built the Milgauss in 1956 for scientists working near strong magnetic fields, and the 116400GV is the modern take, a soft-iron Faraday cage inside shielding the movement to 1,000 gauss. It is the one Rolex with a green sapphire crystal, the tint casting a faint halo over the dial, an orange lightning-bolt seconds hand sweeping across it. The 40mm steel case runs the anti-magnetic caliber 3131 on a steel bracelet. Discontinued in 2023, which has only sharpened collector interest. Dated October 2021, a full set with box and papers.
